Expected to be finished in 2021, the Svart Hotel in Norway’s Arctic Circle will be the worlds first energy-positive hotel.
The property is being build from naturally occurring local materials in the surrounding region, including stone and weather resistant wood, which require minimal energy to harvest and transport to the construction site.
Solar power will take the hotel from energy efficient to power positive, producing more renewable energy than it uses for materials and production.
